Framing Tips

When choosing a mat and frame for any picture you buy keep it simple. I like white mats. I think when it comes to matting a photograph a white mat is the best for showing off the true colors of any picture. There are many different shades of white available so you have a lot of choices in white mats. Not everyone likes white mats. If you are not a fan of white mats I would advise you to choose a neutral color or a mat color that matches or goes with the dominant color in the picture. The idea is to enhance the picture with your choice of mat not overwhelm or detract from it. Your local custom framer is always available to help you.

When it comes to choosing a frame the choices are almost mind-boggling. Again, try to keep it simple. I like black frames. When you match a simple black frame, whether it is wood or metal, with a white mat, it is a classic style that will always look good. If you are not a fan of this look remember when you are looking at frames to keep things simple and choose a frame that doesn’t take away from the picture. Again, your framer is there to help you.
