Afton State Park is along the St. Croix River about 5 miles south of Afton, MN; next to Afton Alps ski area. Two things struck me immediately when I came upon this scene. The first was the contrast between the dark water and white snow. The second was the curve the creek makes at the top of the picture. Contrast and curves make for dynamic art.
